Once it\u0027s installed, it gets push notifications for new chats even when it\u0027s closed. It matches the inbox rather than counting notifications, so it goes down as chats are picked up, even from another device. iPhone shows the number. On Android, most launchers show a dot, and Samsung phones show the number.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022available_and_away_dont_affect_phone_alerts\u0022\u003EAvailable and Away don\u0027t affect phone alerts\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EPhone alerts are how you hear about chats when you\u0027re away from your desk, so they arrive whether you\u0027re \u003Cb\u003EAvailable\u003C/b\u003E or \u003Cb\u003EAway\u003C/b\u003E in the inbox. To pause them, turn them off in the phone panel, or use your phone\u0027s Focus or Do Not Disturb setting.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Ch2 id=\u0022working_on_a_small_screen\u0022\u003EWorking on a small screen\u003C/h2\u003E\u003Cp\u003EOn a phone, the inbox shows one screen at a time. Pick the view at the top, tap a conversation, and tap \u003Cb\u003E\u2039\u003C/b\u003E to go back. Visitor details are hidden on small screens.
